Bambi's edgy look creates a stunning contrast with these feminine pieces.

ombre hair

Ombre hair has been on the scene for awhile now, popping up on everyone from celebs to models (including style icons like Alexa Chung and Rachel Bilson) and I am still crushing on it! I love how carefree and summery this look is, and the fact that it is pretty much maintenance free is always a bonus.

Ombre is a French word which literally means shaded, and the ombre look does't necessarily include bleached ends. Ashley Tisdale's subtle take on the trend (pictured above) is particularly taking my fancy, with dark brown roots fading into lovely light brown tips.

Could be on the books for a new style in the new year?

Betty

Brooke Farser has been an absolute hero of mine since I was a sweet wee 14 year-old singing along to her first album What to do with Daylight. I love and admire the way she has become a household name in New Zealand without compromising who she is and what she stands for. Her new (self-produced) album Flags is fantastic, as expected. Flags has a different sound to her past albums, while still keeping a distinct 'Brooke Fraser' feel. From catchy blue grass numbers like the first single and opening track Something in the Water to beautiful ballads, it's an album I can't stop listening to.

Betty, the second single from Flags, is one of my personal favourites. Check out the adorable video!

P.S - Merry Christmas eve!!

Chelsea and Marc

Chelsea Clinton wed Marc Mezvinsky July 31, 2010
Chelsea and Marc in 1996
I'm not really a huge wedding enthusiast, much less celebrity weddings, but I am not made of STONE. This is sweet. (Also I have a thing for first daughters.)
The U.S doesn't have "royals" or even "non-trashy celebrities" so for those of us who grew up idealistic Clintonians this is it.
Chelsea Clinton was the first daughter of the Sassy generation, she was made fun of for her braces and frizzy hair and had the terrible disadvantage of being juxtaposed to the perfect Gore girls. But she showed us all, oh Chelsea came out all right in the end.
